A couple days ago we released an article on the droid rights movement; and how it would be a progressive step for Japan. However due to the increasing violence against droids from both the ASF and Japanese Federation, it seems that the rights of these metallic descendants appear to be getting further and further away. A recent news report from the Sendai district shows a robot attacking the Chief Inspector Shinji Masako in an apparent gunfight, but that's what you're told to believe.
In fact, it appears there's more to the story than that, judging by this statement sent in by none other than the aggressor.
Recently I was designated a rogue AI by my owner who I will leave unnamed for the sake of anonymity, which in of itself would nullify any attempts at a droid rights movement. I have written to you today with the express concern of disproving any claims that this was an unwarranted attack against an ASF officer who was simply doing his job, and to do this I have included a video of the incident in question.
A video starts, showing the perspective of a large droid and an unnamed man in black, crawling along a support beam above a staircase. Below Chief Inspector Shinji Masako is making an arrest on a man in a yellow jacket and a biker helmet, and shortly after the two climbing onto the support beam, the unnamed man drops a small thing of Ragu on Shinji. Someone off-screen shouts “PASTA LA VISTA!” before laughing. Shinji looks up at them, absolutely infuriated before instead turning his rifle on the man being arrested, firing a burst into his chest. The perspective begins to shake and turn red, words appearing across the screen like “NOT FAIR” and “HELP HIM” as if the camera were angry. The camera then drops off the side of the support beam, landing on Shinji with a thud. Shinji appears to be okay as he gets up directly after and begins firing at the droid. Thankfully, the droid appears to be able to absorb most of the damage from these rounds, grabbing the man being arrested and unlawfully shot as he takes off. He throws the injured man to an unidentified person who has been blurred out, before the unidentified person takes off at lightning speed. The footage then cuts out as more fire rains down upon the camera.
The brutality shown triggered someone, it was if I went into autopilot with a fight or flight response, because I could not just sit there and let my friend die. To trade his life for my own personal freedom would be a mockery against I stand for, because with no community, there can be no solidarity.
If you asked me to trade my personal freedom to save one of my friends, I would do it in a heartbeat, because my friends have stood by me throughout. My friends have shown me they care about the droid rights movement that I endorse, and by God I am more than willing to throw away my own chance at living a normal life in order to keep them alive.
If there’s anything to take away from this, don’t assume rogue AI means the AI is malicious, because we’re not all malicious, we’re simply looking out for the people we care about.

Well, what do you think reader? Was the shooting of the yellow coat man justified? Was the droid in the wrong for attacking the officer? Do droid rights still seem like a good idea? Post your response in the comments below!
